Dr. Shashi Patil, who can be considered a yogi of the 21st century, has dedicated himself to help people acquire a sound health and a positive mind. He has developed his unique ways of treatment and a kind of divine healing power after years of experience and experimentation.
    Dr. Shashi Patil founded the Shivambu Yoga and Nature-cure Center in Kolhapur (India) in 1974. Since then the center has successfully helped thousands of patients to get cured from cardiac disorders, diabetes, obesity, asthma, allergies, cancer, chronic skin diseases, digestive problems, kidney stones, infertility, gynecological diseases and psychosomatic disorders with auto urine therapy (A.U.T) and cow urine therapy. This therapy is practiced in India since Vedic age, it is time tested and has a proven scientific base.
    Dr. Shashi Patil, born on 25th June 1945 in Jaysingpur, completed his schooling in a spiritual residential school in Bahubali. In the initial phase of his career he practiced allopathic medicine in the rural outskirts of Kolhapur district. A kind of miracle made him change his direction completely, persuading him to study alternative medicine in depth. To a landlord couple, that had been childless for 20 years, a healthy baby was born after they practiced Urine therapy. Following the couple, Dr. Shashi Patil went to Adrushya (Invisible) Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji. This spiritual saint showered his blessings and encouraged Dr. Patil to practice A.U.T. on himself as well as to help other poor and downtrodden patients suffering from incurable diseases. Dr. Patil himself in his childhood suffered from polio, and after practicing A.U.T. he is now leading a perfectly normal life.
    Later on he studied in depth the ancient Indian health scripture "Damar-tantra", which is specifically on Auto Urine Therapy. He had the chance to interact with many spiritual leaders, saints and experts in the field and he made a continuous effort in improving his 10 days residential Integrated Urine Therapy Course, which started giving miraculous results. At first, he successfully tested A.U.T. on a group of patients suffering from leprosy and non-healing wounds. Then steadily he specialized in A.U.T. treatments for almost all types of incurable diseases. For a period of almost three decades he has been serving poor patients with a low cost package.
    His unique two points program focuses mainly on A.U.T. for body purification and pranayam with Vipassana meditation for mind purification. He searched deeply into the laws of nature, studied about the origin of human beings and learned helpful natural resources. He has an extremely effective and uncanny ability to convince people about Urine therapy by giving simple examples. He has also greatly contributed to literature by writing many simple books on A.U.T. and health. In fact his literature on health is an eye opener for the people of modern age who are always under stress, losing the eternal happiness of life and thereby falling prey to modern psychosomatic, auto-immune, and lifestyle diseases.
    After founding the Shivambu Yoga and Nature-cure Center in 1974, he struck a chord to announce his mission to teach the art of a disease free life without drugs and medicines. Later in 1975 he invited all experienced urine therapy practitioners from all over the country and formed a legal corporation called "Shivambu Prachar-prasar Mandal" in order to bring the benefits of A.U.T. to grass root level.
    Dr. Patil, who continuously writes in newspapers, journals, magazines and gives lectures and conducts seminars and camps, has also released many audiocassettes. He is very caring and soft-spoken by nature, always spreading laughter and happiness to the people he comes in contact with.
    In 1981 the former Prime Minister of India Shri Morarjibhai Desai, a firm believer of A.U.T., came to know about the selfless service of Dr. Patil to the nation, and personally visited the Shivambu Yoga and Nature-cure Center on the 19th Dec. in Kolhapur. He also enjoyed some health services in the center. He congratulated and encouraged Dr. Shashi Patil and his team for their missionary work.
    As the years passed, Dr. Patil's communication and interaction in India and abroad increased. He was then acknowledged as an experienced and expert Uropathy specialist. The Govt. of Rumania took note of his vast experience and knowledge in the field, and invited him to Rumania to treat women suffering from breast cancer. He arrived in Bucharest with his team and displayed his unparalleled expertise in Urine therapy treatment, leaving Rumanians and the people in the Indian Embassy hypnotized.
    Even today he is very busy in the center. For those suffering from fatal diseases, mentally and physically handicapped, depressed and dejected in life, he is a ray of hope. He explains the principle of Shivambu (self-urine) in simple words: “It is the First Choice or the Last Resort.”
    His soothing yet piercing voice awakens the patients in the early morning and he conducts an exhaustive and energetic exercise workshop comprising yoga, pranayam, aerobics and specially formulated exercises for the patients in the center from 4.00 a.m. until 8.00 a.m.  Actually his day starts much before that, at 2.30 a.m. when he goes for a walk towards the serene Rankala lake and then takes a dip in the lake with selected patients. He explains each and every step of the exercises with suitable practical examples, leaving no room for confusion. All the patients enjoy these sessions very much and feel that they are being taken all together into a different world.
    One of his concerns is to convert these health awareness efforts into a kind of people's movement. He wants to convey this art of healthy living to the schools, reinforcing fitness values on the next generation. His plans are to educate farmers, organize rallies, and arrange meetings in temples and other public places for spreading the message of a disease free life with A.U.T.
    His dream project is to establish a state of the art " Health Center "  (Arogya Dham) in the midst of a green forest surrounded by beauty, away from polluted towns, where diet will come from nature and water from natural springs. He welcomes all people who are of the same view and are interested in the project.
    His elder son, Dr. Nitin Patil, who was an officer in the Indian Air Force, left the job and after thorough training in health sciences and alternative medicine has joined hands with his father.
    The younger son, Dr. Sarang Patil, after graduating in Naturopathy and Yogic sciences from the Mangalore University, is also supporting his father's health movement.
    The blessings from his parents and spiritual gurus, the co-operation of fellow urine therapists and innumerable patients, the contribution of his family members and of course the committed team members at the center, together will bring his ideal dream project into a reality in the near future.

Dr. Nitin S. Patil was born on March 2nd 1971. He is the elder son of Dr. Shashi Patil. After serving 12 years as an officer in the Indian Air Force, he has joined his father in the service of humankind.

He studied as Electrical Engineer, and holds the degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences. He has acquired professional skills in Acupressure, Reiki, magneto therapy and other naturopathic disciplines.

He works as a resident medical officer at the Institute and handles the public relations. He is the chief editor of "Amartha Shivambu Samachar", an all Marathi Magazine about Shivambu.
